The story begins again, with the signal station on Eildon Hill North flaming out the warning and the watch on the fort's South West tower answering beacon for beacon. The garrison of the FIFTH FORT at TRIMONTIUM has immediate vacancies for all ranks.

An illustrated Certificate of Recruitment with your name, rank, number and picture of uniform will follow as soon as military duties permit - and the ox-cart arrives from Vindolanda, where troopers are encouraged to spend their leave.

Cost - £5 to join the garrison for one year. Send your form in now and become a full trooper of the regiment. For £2.50 if you are at school, you can become an Auxiliary.

Candidates will be considered ( and notified) by the Promotion Board re posts of standard bearer, centurion etc. on payment of double fee - £10.
